Dorothy Mae Kranz, 100, of Lancaster, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the home of her nephew, John. She was the loving wife of the late John C. Kranz to whom she was married for 61 years.
Born in New Providence, PA and raised in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late, John and Ada (Gottshall) Seachrist.
She spent much of her adult life as a homemaker raising two of her nephews, John and Alvin.
In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed bowling, crocheting, and sewing, aerobics, and playing bingo, with friends at Ruoff Towers where she lived for 17 years. She also enjoyed many family picnics at their cabin in Peach Bottom.
Dorothy attended Lancaster Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, John Seachrist (Naomi), Pat Summers, Brian Snyder (Wanda), Dennis Snyder (Brenda), Pam Smith (Andy), Kim Brenner (Steve Keen), Tim Brenner (Carol), Todd Brenner (Karen), Sandy (Ford), Linda Bowers (Joe) and a sister, Elizabeth Brenner. She was predeceased by siblings, Margaret Snyder and Alvin Seachrist and by a nephew, Alvin Seachrist, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at Lancaster Church of the Brethren, 1601 Sunset Ave, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A private interment will be at the convenience of the family at Conestoga Memorial Park.
