Dorothy E. “Dottie” Kowerski, 61, of 633 Poplar St., Lancaster, died Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Moravian Manor, Lititz, PA after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Lawrence M. Kowerski, Jr., to whom she was married for 36 years.
Born in Lancaster County, Dottie was the daughter of the late William J., Sr. and Elizabeth Zook Baughman.
A long-time and active member of First United Methodist Church of Lancaster, she was a member of the Wesley Circle of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and attended and appreciated many Broadway Shows. Gardening was once her hobby, but nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her precious grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Larry, Dottie is survived by her two sons, Dr. Lawrence M. Kowerski III of W. Orange, NJ, and Jason M., husband of Elizabeth Kowerski of Lancaster, PA; four grandchildren, seven brothers, and one sister.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, corner of Duke and Walnut Sts., Lancaster, PA. Her family will greet friends immediately following the memorial service. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
