Debra Gilchrest

Debra J. Gilchrest 69, of Lancaster died on Saturday, March 2, 2024, due to a short illness. Debbie was a graduate of Hempfield Area High School in Greensburg. She was preceded in death by her late husband Jim Gilchrest and a niece Megan L. Smith.

Born April 3, 1954, in Greensburg, she was the daughter of the late George and Eleanor (Roll) Smith. Debbie was an avid animal lover and fostered many Golden Retrievers over the years.

Surviving are her two sons, Ryan of York and Andrew of Lancaster along with two grandchildren Crosby and Colbie, both of Lancaster, Her brother George and his wife Beenie of Greensburg. Debbie also leaves behind her two rescue golden retrievers Gracie and Kirby.

Friends and Relatives are respectfully invited to join the family for a  Memorial Gathering which  be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 5 pm until 6:45 pm at DeBordSnyder Funeral Home and Crematory 141 E. Orange St. Lancaster PA 17602. Words of remembrance and a brief service will be at 6:45 pm to complete the gathering.
