David B. Snyder, 38, of New Providence, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Ronald R. and Lucinda “Cindy” A. (Shimp) Snyder.
David earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design communication from Philadelphia University. In recent years, he worked selflessly as a home health aide, offering both care and companionship.
A man of many talents, David was an accomplished athlete as well as a gifted artist and musician. He competed in cross country and track in both high school and college, earning many achievements, including a 10th-place finish at the 2008 CACC Men’s Cross Country Championship that helped the Rams win the team title.
He found his greatest joy in creating art, making music, and spending time in nature. Rarely without a guitar or ukulele nearby, he especially loved sharing his musical gifts with his niece and nephews. Beyond his many talents and interests, he was a friend to everyone he met and will be remembered for his kindness, gentle spirit, and funny sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, David is survived by his siblings, Brittany (wife of Dave) and Adam; his niece and nephews, Gatlin, Anna, and Zachary; his grandmothers, Mary Snyder and Florence Shimp; countless aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his long-time partner Dessirae Gruhle. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey, and his grandfathers, Raymond Snyder and Larry Shimp.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a viewing at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
