Constance Ermlich Wilson

Constance Wilson, age 95, of Willow Valley Communities passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 30th. She began life in the Monongahela Valley where her father worked for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. As daughter of Frank and Blanche Ermlich she attended California (PA) High School and California University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Childhood Education. In 1952 she married C. Vincent Wilson, a graduate student at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. The couple began a lifetime of service—teaching school and pastoring Presbyterian congregations in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The couple were happily married for 64 years at the time of Vince’s death in 2016.

Besides raising her children and teaching school, Connie enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She was active in women’s circle groups and chaperoning youth retreats. Following their move to Willow Valley Communities in 2002, Connie relished retirement and made many new friends. She enjoyed traveling internationally where she and Vince especially liked exploring the lakes and villages of Switzerland.

Connie is survived by her son Robert and his partner Phyllis Simone and her daughter Rebecca Wilson Condello and son-in-law Joseph Condello. Connie’s grandchildren are Philip, Tyler and Heidi Wilson Plankey; Kristin Condello El Idrissi and Rachel Condello Fogel. Her great grandchildren are Caleb Wilson, Lilliana and Luke Fogel, Jr.; and Amir and Layla El Idrissi. Connie was predeceased in death by her brother Paul Ermlich most recently of Sewickley, PA. Paul had lived most of his life in Camp Hill, PA with his family.
