Claire L. Herr

Claire L. Herr, 86, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Winter Park Memorial Hospital in Winter Park, FL.  She was the loving wife of Howard F. Herr. They have resided in Oviedo, Florida for the past 22 years traveling back to Lancaster every summer to visit.  Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Menno and Ruth (Huffnagle) Swarr.

Claire attended J.P McCaskey High School and dedicated her life as a homemaker caring for her family.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lancaster.

In her spare time Claire was devoted to egg decorating which utilized her amazing gift for detail. She also enjoyed other crafts, traveling and serving her churches.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter Sandra Morris and her husband James living in Farmville, North Carolina and a daughter Susan Wells and her husband Roger living in Denton, Texas.  Claire was a grandmother to Jeffery and Justin Wells residing in the Dallas Fort Worth area and a great grandmother to six great grand children.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Grace Lutheran Church, 517 North Queen Street, Lancaster, PA with the Reverend Stephen P. Verkouw officiating. Friends may call at the church on Thursday at 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
