Christine "Sally" Houck

A dear, gentle, kind and beloved mother passed away on February 11, 2026.

Christine "Sally" Houck was born in Hanover on December 30, 1928. She was married for 66 years to Richard "Dick" Houck, who she met while attending and graduating from Gettysburg College, until he passed in September 2016. Together, they built a life and family, starting in Dover, Delaware and Whittier, California, eventually settling in Lancaster in 1960 after a cross-country drive in an old blue Ford station wagon.

Sally eventually took classes at Millersville and became a fourth-grade teacher at Hamilton Elementary. All along, accomplishing and handling things while legally blind in one eye after an accident during her time working at Annie Warner Hospital while in college. It didn't slow her down.

Sally raised three children, Tom Houck, Bill Houck and Kathryn Miles.

She leaves behind, 5 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren...and one on the way!
