Her family was the most important part of her life. She was a generous, loving caregiver, who frequently provided support and care for aging and sick relatives. Chris remembered important milestones and would reach out to ask about your illness, birthday, or upcoming trip. She remembered the family traditions and would cook special meals using favorite recipes.
She was an avid reader, loved cooking and cooking shows, and meeting with her friends. She loved and spoiled her pet birds, dogs, and cats. She took care of the birds and squirrels who came to visit outside her back door.
Chris is survived by her husband, Robert; a daughter, Renee, Brambleton, Va.; a son, Thomas Gifford, husband to Loren, New Cumberland, Pa.; one granddaughter, Asala; a sister, Cindy, wife of Abe Sanchez, Washington Boro, Pa.; and her brothers, Randy Witman, husband to Denise, Lake Suzy, Fl.; and Kevin Witman, husband to Janet, Cochranville, Pa. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews and their families.
A private graveside memorial service will be held later at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Pet Pantry of Lancaster, 26 Millersville Rd, Lancaster, PA 17603 (https://petpantrylc.org/).

Bob & Family,
We are so sad at Chris’ passing. She was such a thoughtful & caring neighbor. Any small gift we gave of a home-grown tomato or two would be returned immediately in the form of some corn or other bounty. She couldn’t help herself. She was always cheerfully willing to take Corky out if we needed help. I sure miss watching her feed the squirrels and birds out back and sweep up the sunflower shells. We will always take a part if her with us, and know she is also with all of you.
Love,
Amy & Dave
