Charles V Tennis

Charles “Charlie” V. Tennis, 84, of Lancaster, passed away on March 4, 2024 at UPMC Lititz, PA.  He was the loving husband of Shirley (Weiss) Tennis. Born in Cains, PA, he was the son of the late Walter C. and Nora V. (Plank) Tennis.

In 1968, Charlie started Tennis Electric Inc. as an electrical contractor and then later specialized in high voltage work in which he loved to do. He continued this work and finally retired at the age of 80 years old.   After retiring, he took up wood working as a hobby.

In addition to his wife, Shirley; he is survived by a son, C. Vincent Tennis, a daughter, Bonny Tennis and step children, James R. Rupert, Steven L. Boose and Lisa M. Nolt. Together they had nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his siblings, Ellen (wife of Edward) and Ruth (wife of Mike).  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, John (husband of Anne) and Walter (husband of Charlotte) and many nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 16th, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Lancaster Country Club, 1466 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601 with casual dress.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to your favorite charity.
