Carol Lee Boscow

Carol Lee Boscow, 76, of Willow Street, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Willow Valley Retirement Community.

Carol was born in New Castle, PA, on April 19, 1938. Her early childhood years were spent in Erie, PA, and Dallas, TX. Her family then settled in Walla Walla, Washington, where she graduated from Walla Walla High School.

Carol was married to Ronald Boscow, her high school sweetheart, on February 8, 1955. They were married 59 years.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a staunch supporter of her children’s and grandchildren’s pursuits and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots. She enjoyed sewing and knitting, and utilized her skill to create a wide assortment of beautiful clothes, toys and other hand-made items. She enjoyed worldwide travel and was able to embrace her husband’s love of classical music.

Throughout her adult life, Carol was forced to contend with a variety of serious health challenges. Her internal strength, discipline and endurance along with the steadfast care provided by her loving husband Ron and countless others allowed her to meet these challenges and lead a wonderful and very full life. Her “secret” was her love for people and her interest in her family, friends and others whom she had the opportunity to meet.

Carol is survived by her brother Lyle Lutton and his wife Cheryl of Bend, OR, a son Randy and his wife Lori of Leavenworth, WA; a daughter Shannon and her husband Paul of Lancaster, PA; a son Bill and his wife Kimberly of Winnetka, IL; a brother-in-law Robert Taylor; 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and other family and friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband Ron, her mother Flora Mae Lutton, her father Paul Lutton and her sister Joy Taylor.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 5:30 PM, Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E. Roseville Rd. Lancaster, PA, with The Rev. Robert J. Stahl and The Rev. Dr. Ann Osborne officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Fulton Theater Academy Student Scholarship Fund, 12 N. Prince St., Lancaster, PA 17603, or the Organ Fund at theĀ First Trinitarian Congregational Church, 381 Country Way, Scituate, MA 02066.

So sorry to hear of Carol’s passing. You kids have really had your share this fall. Rest assured, they are together again and yet. Ronnie was the brother I always wanted and we did get along as though we were brother and sister. My thoughts are with you and your families and my prayers go up for you.
Thinking of you all as these days pass.
