Betty P. Lee (nee Pansius) died Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Glen at Willow Valley. Born August 18, 1923 in Summit, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Henry G.E. Pansius and Elsie M. Rogers.
She graduated from the University School in Pasadena, CA and entered the University of Pennsylvania graduating in 1945. After graduation, she became a Social Worker for the American Red Cross stationed in Newport Beach/Balboa, CA.
She married Austin M. Lee, an attorney, in Philadelphia on April 12, 1947 and was the mother of four children who survive, Susan E. Lee, Nancy Lee Papay, Thomas H. Lee II and Robert A. Lee. She is survived by four grandchildren, John P. Papay, Kate Papay, Elizabeth Lee and Rebecca Lee.
Mrs. Lee was an avid bridge player and traveled extensively in the United States as well as being quite active in the affairs of the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor, Stone Harbor, NJ. She summered for many years in Avalon, NJ.
Graveside services in the West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, PA will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Lee’s memory may be made the Lillian Brunner Nursing Education Fund, Attn: June, Willow Valley Manor North, 600 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA 17602.
