Arthur L. Munson, 91, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010, at the Mennonite Home.
Born August 29, 1918, in Presque Isle, ME, he was a son of the late Roy Wallace and Louise Rose Munson.
Arthur was a retired U.S. Army Major and during his service to his country during WWII and the Korean Conflict, he was awarded both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Sara Wiltse Munson of Lancaster; a son, Steven Munson of Long Beach, CA; a daughter, Nancy Herrick and husband, Anthony, of San Rafael, CA; and a brother, Phillip Munson of ME.
Interment will be at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at 2:00pm with military honors. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2010, 2:00pm, at First United Methodist Church, Duke & Walnut Streets, Lancaster.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA, 17604 or to the church.
