Anna M. Martin of Millersville, went to be with her Savior on December 9, 2023, at St. Anne’s Retirement Community. She was 92 years young. The daughter of Ernest and Lillian Oettel, Anna was born in Lancaster, the second to youngest of seven children. She was the wife of Lewis C. Martin and they would have celebrated 71 years of marriage in March.
Annie, as Lewis called her, was a nurse and worked for OBGYN Associates of Lancaster, PA for 25 years, maintaining friendships with some of her coworkers after retirement. She enjoyed going to the beach and the mountains, and had a beautiful collection of antique porcelain toothpick holders.
She didn’t like fanfare or any type of attention, but had a gentle, nurturing spirit, was compassionate, and always ready to help those in need. She was a wonderful mother and wife who cared deeply for her Savior, her family, and her home. As a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, she and Lewis were founding members where she sang in the Matins Choir and served in the church nursery. Anna was a prayer warrior and committed to praying for others.
She is lovingly survived by her daughters Lewanne Martin and Jolynn Shenk; two grandchildren, Alyson Shenk (David, fiancé) and Neal Shenk (Tiffany); great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who she dearly loved. She is preceded in death by her son, Dennis Martin, and her siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2151 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, with family visitation at 10:00 a.m. and services at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. John Light officiating.
