Anna Jane (AJ) Stoner Heisey, 97, formerly of Millersville, PA was surrounded by her loving family as she was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, on Saturday, March 9, 2024.  Born on January 26, 1927 in Manor Township, she was a daughter to the late Oram L. and Fanny M. (Ament) Stoner and preceded in death by five siblings (Irene, Nelson, Verna, Richard, and Jay).   AJ was married to her high school sweetheart, John Calvin Heisey for 46 years until his passing in 1994. 

Following graduation from Manor-Millersville High School in 1945, “Shortie” as she was known by close friends and family, worked in various administrative roles for Armstrong Cork Company. She was blessed to become a stay-at-home mom to care for her two children, Nan L. (Fredrick L., deceased) Heisey Engle of East Petersburg, PA and J. Barry (Cathy J.) Heisey of Franklin, TN before returning to full-time work outside the home in the Admissions Department of Millersville State University.    

Anna Jane became a follower of Jesus Christ in early adulthood and joined formerly Stehman Memorial Evangelical United Brethren Church, Millersville, PA where she served in various children ministries. She and John later attended Grace Baptist Church, Lancaster, PA. 

AJ enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning/freezing fresh produce, and meticulous housekeeping. She loved to shop and would never turn down a cup of black coffee. Most of all, she was devoted to caring for and serving her family, friends, and neighbors.   

In addition to her two children, AJ is survived by five beloved grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren:  Jeremiah (Jenny) Heisey and their children Jaxon, Jordan, and Jadyn; Jessica (Ryan) Heisey Harper and their children, Adeline, Reagan, and Abigail; Bethany (Cal) Engle Napolitano and their children Elliora, Bence, and Emma; Erica (Ben) Engle Martin and their children Molly and Zoe; and Mark (Liz) Engle and their daughter, Ada.   

A Graveside Service will be held in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery (435 Manor Avenue, Millersville, PA) on Saturday, April 6 at 10:30 a.m.  A Memorial Service celebrating AJ's life will follow at 12:00pm at Crossway Church (330 Barbara Street, Millersville, PA). The family will receive friends and family beginning at 11:30am. 

Kindly omit flowers. Memorial remembrances can be made in Anna Jane’s memory to Grace Baptist Church, 1899 Marietta Ave. Lancaster, PA.
