Alston G. Allen 92, of New Gretna NJ passed away on December 13, 2022 in the Atlantic City Hospital. He graduated from Tuckerton High School in 1948 and served in the US Army from 1048-1952 in Germany as a medic.
Alston worked for the State of New Jersey for 26 years, retiring from the New Jersey Marine Police in 1980.
Alston then clammed and sold them commercially up to the age of 76.
He was the recipient of the Hurley Conklin Award , a member of the VFW Post 316, a life member of the PBA #220.
He was a life member of the New Gretna Old Home Society and a member of First Presbyterian Church of New Gretna.
Alston is predeceased by his parents Leslie and Ientha Mathis Allen and his daughter Denise. He is survived by his wife Clara of 70 years, Son Fred, daughter Melinda (Stan) Scott; grandchildren Paul (Ferial), Derek (Nancy) and two greatgrandchildren. also his brothers Carl and Gary.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 10 am at the First Presbyterian Church of New Gretna, 19 N. Maple Ave. New Gretna NJ 08224, the service will begin at 11 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at Miller Cemetery New Gretna.
