June E. (Lear) Shepley, 95, Lititz , died on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. She was born on June 16, 1925 in Lebanon to the late Ralph and Lillie (Reedy) Lear, and was the wife of the late Charles Shepley who died in 1980.
She is survived be three daughters: Patricia (Rodney) Shupp; Felicia (Charles) Marino; and Alicia (Raymond) Forrey; three grandchildren: Rebecca, David and Crystle; and five great-grandchildren: Ashley, Jayda, Katherine, Rachel and Joselynn (with one on the way). She was preceded in death by five siblings: Thomas, Ella, Betty, Ralph and Reno.
June was a 1943 graduate of JP McCaskey High School and became a self-taught seamstress who did sewing and alterations the majority of her life. She also made doll clothes, which she was very proud of, and sold them in Lancaster Southern Market, Lancaster West End Market and at many local craft shows. She loved to read, play scratch-off lottery tickets and Bingo. June was a fiercely independent woman who lived her life her way and lived independently until 2019.
The family would like to thank United Zion and Grane Hospice for their care and support.
Per her request there will be no service.

Thinking of June Shepley; even though I went to school with some of her daughters, specifically Alicia, I have to express the amount of fun I had with June the day I went to her cottage to discuss her final arrangements. I had forgotten what a dear and tiny lady she was. I was like a giant beside her! I had a wonderful time with her that day. In addition to talking about her final arrangements, June gave me a tour of her cottage, and showed me some of her creations. A master seamstress, the Doll clothing and other items she had seen were gorgeous! Such meticulous work; I was astounded. She was preparing for a craft show the following weekend.
June was a very special lady in many ways. My sincere condolences to her family who will miss her tremendously I’m sure!
Thank you Diane. She did love to share her sewing with everyone. Every Christmas I remember her saying that she hoped all the little girls who got any of her doll clothes for Christmas liked them. Some of her customers spanned several generations. Again, thank you for everything you and Debord Snyder have done for our family.
Alicia
We were so sad to hear of June’s passing. She was such a wonderful woman, and so talented. We loved seeing her when we were all in the bowling league, at Lancashire, when we visited Millie, and especially, at St. Phillips, where she sold her lovely doll clothes. She gave our granddaughter many happy moments , dressing her Barbie’s in June’s beautiful outfits. She will be missed! Our thoughts and prayers to all of you. Donna and Chuck Kilgore
Thank you Donna and Chuck.
Alicia,
So sorry for your loss. Condolences to you and your family.
Thank you Charmayne.
