Joshua M. Curtis, 36, of  Lancaster, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 at The Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center after a long and courageous fight against leukemia.  He was the loving husband of Christina (Collins) Curtis and the loving father of his two daughters Zoe and Olive.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of William W. and Geri Lou (Findley) Curtis.

Joshua was an avid outdoorsman who was always looking for a good spot to fish, hunt or hike.  He was interested in working with anything mechanical or technical and was very gifted in these areas.  Even during his illness, Joshua loved helping others but most of all he loved his family and  spending time with his wife and daughters.

In addition to his wife, daughters and parents, Joshua is survived by his brother, Jeremy Curtis, his grandfather, James Gehring and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602.

Friends may greet the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joshua’s memory may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 2405 Park Drive, Suite #100, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to simply donate blood in Joshua’s memory.

We knew Josh through the Unitarian church in Lancaster, where he served as a wonderful mentor for young men in the congregation. He mixed constant enthusiasm with valuable advice from his own life lessons. We miss Josh, and know he touched many lives with his magnetic personality. Strength and love to his family and friends.

I met Josh through several volunteer projects we did together at the church. Specifically, we were involved in a youth mentoring program together. Josh was always making us laugh. He had a great sense of humor and such a passion for enjoying every little precious moment; something many of us take for granted. He inspired me in so many ways. My sympathy goes out to his family and to his precious little girls, Zoe and Olive. May his legacy of kindness, acceptance, and inquisitiveness be carried on through them.
