James R. Clark, 78, of Lancaster, died January 21, 2011 at Hospice of L a n c a s t e r County-Good Drive. Born in Kinzers, he was the son of the late Landis G. and Elva Usnser Clark. Jim was the husband of Evelyn Jackson Clark and had celebrated their 54th anniversary in June, 2010. Jim was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Lancaster, where he served as usher, Sunday School teacher, member of Church Council, member and former chairman of Worship Commission, communion steward and a Stephen Ministries Volunteer. He was a former member of Parkesburg United Methodist and Cochranville United Methodist Churches. Jim taught in the Octorara School District for 33 years, including 7 years as the Director of District Activities. He organized and supervised the Blood Mobile during the early 1980’s and received a “10 gallon” Pin recognizing his own blood donations. He organized “Hands around Octorara” Service and Support Club which taught students the importance of supporting their community through acts of good deeds. He was a member of PSEA (Pennsylvania State Education Association), NEA (National Education Association), and OAEA(Octorara Area Education Association.) Proud of his voting record, Jim never missed a primary or general election since he turned 21 years old. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by a daughter, Kimberly A., wife of Roger Evans of Strasburg; a son, James Michael, husband of Danielle Clark of Narvon; four grandchildren, Dylan and Brooke Evans and Olivia and Madison Clark; and four sisters, Mildred Ream of Ronks, Kathleen Denlinger of Gap, Alice Richey of Cochranville and Anna Belle Underwood of Parkesburg, PA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Viewing on Thursday, January 27th from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 29th at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, corner of Duke and Walnut Sts., Lancaster, PA. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Kindly omit flowers.
