My sincere condolences to Nancy Chryst Wolfer and the rest of Gordon’s family on the sad fact of his passing. In addition to his other life accomplishments, “Gordie” was an outstanding high school football player. I had the good fortune of having lineman Gordie play right in front of me when I was a running back for the McCaskey team during the 1951 season. Whenever the call was for me to run straight ahead with the football, I never had the slightest doubt that the hole to run through would be there. Gordie could and always did move the opposing lineman out of position, giving me the room I needed to advance the ball. He was tough, determined, unyielding. I also had the opportunity to know and admire him socially in a limited way, since he was in my homeroom at McCaskey. For these reasons, I’ll continue to think of him, with the highest regard, for as long as I have memory.

Our sincere condolences to Nancy and your family. Gordy was my “right hand” at the drug store for many years and will be remembered as a good friend.
