Vera,
I was saddened to read of Ev’s passing. You and Ev were the first two people that Dad (Henry Wentz) introduced me to when he was contemplating a move to the Glen. He always spoke so highly of you both and he enjoyed his visits with Ev after he was moved to the 5th floor. You both were always so upbeat and friendly. Prayers to you and your family.

Vera,
I just saw the notice of Ev’s passing. My prayers are with you and your family.
I retired from Willow Valley and didn’t get to say goodbye to very many of the Residents.
I appreciated the opportunity to work there and get to know you and Ev.

Ev and Vera were early friends at Willow Valley. My late husband Bryson and I were delighted to be invited to several of their Saturday morning breakfasts, with Ev doing much of the cooking and calling out greetings from the kitchen. We stayed friends as Bryson, then Ev and Vera , had to move to the Glen, Ev’s warm personality endeared him to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

So sorry to hear of Ev’s passing. I really enjoyed his company, his dry wit, and his caring. He and Vera became my local “family” here at Willow Valley. They were (and Vera still is) fun to visit (and I know I’m not the only one who thinks so). They never complain(ed) – I have no idea what their physical ailments are (were) because they never mention(ed) them. They were one of the first people we met when my (first) husband and I moved here to Willow Valley: Carroll Adams invited us to breakfast with them because we all were from Cape Cod. Ev’s advice to me before moving in was: “Make sure to get a high toilet seat”!

I enjoyed delivering the mail at Willow Valley when I volunteered. He will be missed.
