Dear Loved ones,
Evelyn’s life here at Christian School of York made such an impact on her students and the staff as well. We loved to see her interact with her students and see that she cared that they understood the Math concepts but also that she shared her love for the Lord with them. We enjoyed working with her and she truly made an impact on our daughter, Cora. Our love and prayers are with all of you.

Mrs. Packard was my math teacher in 7th and 8th grade (1987-88). She stands out in my mind as one of my favorite middle school teachers. I remember how creative she was in trying to make math fun for everyone. She really cared about her students a lot and it showed each day in her teaching. RIP.

I was a student of Mrs. Packard (Miss Hipp) during the 50’s at the River Dell Jr. High School in River Edge, NJ and remembered her well. I wish that I had known that she and her family had moved out here to Lancaster, PA and would have loved to have seen her again. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and may she rest in peace.

Evelyn Packard was a lovely, Godly woman and I am honored to have taught alongside her for 10 years at the Christian School of York. She was known to be tough, but fair. She expected a lot from her students and they loved her for it. I like to image that Evelyn is now face to face with the Savior she loved and is receiving a well deserved “big thumbs-up”.

I had Mrs. Packard in Geometry my junior year of high school at CSY in 1998-1999. Mrs. Packard turned this self-proclaimed math failure into someone with hope for a brighter future. She always had such a great sense of humor and loved her students unconditionally. I will always be grateful for her beautiful spirit and Christ-like attitude. I’m sorry for your loss. She will be remembered by many for her servant’s heart.

Dr. Packard, as one of your former students, I was excited to teach with Evelyn at CSY. You were both known to be challenging and fair. Students knew she cared about them as well as her subject. I’m praying for God’s grace to sustain you in the days ahead.

Mrs. Packard was one of my favorite teachers at Christian School of York. She had a wonderful wit and all the students were engaged. As I now teach a college course at George Mason University I often think back to how she got all the students so engaged in her classes for guidance.
