Dorothy Erisman Huffman

In Memorial

Dorothy Erisman Huffman, 93, of 1800 Village Circle, Lancaster, PA passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015.

Dorothy retired in 1977 as an Executive Secretary for Armstrong World Industries where she worked for 37 years.

She was a 1939 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School.  She was a life member of Grace Lutheran Church, a member of P.E.O. (a philanthropic educational organization), Homestead Village Auxiliary, and a former member of Town and Country Garden Club, Dance of the Month Club, Iris Club and Hamilton Club.

Born in Lancaster, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Ira C. and Cecelia Bryson Erisman.  Her husband, Henry R. Huffman died in 1982.

Surviving is a nephew, Robert D., husband of Cornelia Humphreville Minney of Lancaster; two step-sons, Jerry F. Huffman of Knoxville, TN and Henry R. Huffman, Jr., husband of Carol Huffman of Wilmington, DE, one grand-nephew, Michael Jayson Minney, and two grand-nieces, Catherine Elizabeth Minney and Mercedes Jane Minney; and one great-grandnephew, Jackson R. Minney.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul B. Erisman, a sister, Mary Jane Minney and a nephew, Michael Jay Minney. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service in the Parish Resource Center of Homestead Village, 633 Community Way, Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, at the Parish Resource Center from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.  Private interment will be held in the Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be sent to Grace Lutheran Church, 517 N. Queen St., Lancaster, PA 17603 or Homestead Village Benevolent Fund, 1800 Village Circle, Lancaster, PA 17603
