David Jonathan Mott, 69, of Pequea, went home to be with his Lord on December 20, 2021 at LGH.  Born in Fort Benning, Georgia, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Herman) Mott.

After graduating with his Associates Degree, David spent most of his career as owner of ComputerLynx Network.  Prior to this he did computer programing and repairs.

A true evangelist, David always made certain that those around him knew about his Lord and Savior.  He was responsible for leading many individuals to Christ.  He loved attending church to worship and fellowship.  In his spare time, he loved reading and listening to the Bible and attending weekly studies.  He quoted scripture often.  He loved telling jokes to all who spoke with him, playing solitaire, building model airplanes, lots of honey, Cindy’s cooking and most of all being with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Cindy, he is survived by his eight children, Jonathan, Daniel, Abigail, Samuel, Jesse, Isaiah, Leah and Anthony Mott; four grandchildren and seven siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2151 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:30 AM.  A viewing will be held at the church from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.  Burial to follow in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in David’s memory may be made to: Westminster Presbyterian Church.  To leave an online condolence for the family, please visit: www.DeBordSnyder.com

Our dear brother Dave came into our lives not long ago and MADE a huge impact in our church! We were much much different than Dave (ha) but he was willing to be uncomfortable for the sake of The Gospel and kingdom work. He talked to everyone and not just for a few minutes. We know your faith is now made sight but we will certainly miss seeing you! Til we see you again dear brother.

Condolence from Cindy Mott on December 26th, 2021 10:25 pm

My prayers and condolences to Dave’s family. My husband and I got to meet and know Dave when we were having computer trouble. Dave was so kind and walked us through our problems and the purchase of our new computer. We had extensive conversations about everything . Dave was a good listener with a compassionate heart for Jesus, his family, and his work. He was extremely proud of his children! We are honored to have had the opportunity to get to know him and will miss him and his wit!

My deepest condolences. I didn’t know Dave very long. There was a day he came to my church and He introduced himself. He noticed I was pregnant and asked about my family. I explain I was married but separated and I saw a sadness in his eyes. He began to express how sad that made him, and told me how important it is for my husband and I to be together, he also shared some scripture that began to soften my heart. In that short moment, he made a significant impact and really ministered to me. I was losing hope, but I know God used Dave. To see Daves passion for the Lord and his heart for marriages to reconcile, blessed me! I saw him a couple more times after that and he would tell me that he had been praying for my marriage. That meant so much to me. I will not forget the wisdom, humor and love he extended. My heart is saddened by this news, yet there’s a joy to know he is with the Lord….Prayers to his family

Condolence from Robert Jordan on December 26th, 2021 4:23 pm

s he was moving to Florida and did not wish to take it with him. I asked Dave for his help since I was computer illiterate and he has always been only a phone call away all these years. I will surely miss his expertise, humor and the fellowship we shared on his visits. We always had, I feel, a mutual respect for each other and our vocations. REST IN THE LORD MY FRIEND.

Thank you for your kind words.

Condolence from Deb Kilheffer on December 26th, 2021 8:11 pm

When I think of Dave, I just have to smile. I was a client of his and often told him he should have been a pastor and not a computer guy. He saw my Bible on the computer desk the first time he came to the house and we had many long debates over Calvinism and eternal security. He was an educator, and often said to me, Deb, have I not taught you anything? when he would review the workings of my computer with more information than I wanted to know. He was unique, fun, and pleasant. I’m sure he will be sorely missed. My heartfelt condolences to you, his family.

Condolence from Cindy Mott on December 28th, 2021 8:55 pm

Thank you. When he first went to a Bible School, he was maybe going to be a pastor.
