Richard D. “Dick” Creswell, 80, of Lancaster, passed away on April 24, 2016 at Hamilton Arms Center.  He was the loving husband of Joan C. (Rohrer) Creswell. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Willard and Clara (Henry) Creswell.

After graduating from J.P. McCaskey High School in 1954 he proudly served in the Army National Guard followed by his employment at Lancaster Newspapers.

He was a member of the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard, Legion Post #34, and the Ushers League.

In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by two daughters, Lauri Ann, wife of Christopher Mosso and Diane, wife of Brian Ashba both of Lancaster.  Also surviving are his grandchildren: Michael, husband of Amanda Mosso, James Mosso, Jordan, husband of Kiersten Mosso, Lawrence Ashba and Devin Ashba.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 25 N. West End Ave, Lancaster, PA 17603 on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM.  Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Charlie’s family has our sympathy on his passing. I served with him in the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard and we found that he was born at LGH the night before I was, so that made us nursery mates. We thank him for his service to the honor guard.

I served in the PA Army National Guard, 3622nd Maintenance Company with Richard for many Years. Richard was a reliable, and faithful Soldier who served his Country, and Unit proudly, and honorably. Richard will be greatly missed, and warmly remembered by his fellow Soldiers, and Friends.
My thoughts, and Prayers to all of Richard’s Family members.

May God grant you the strength to get through the difficult days ahead.

Remembering Richard, who was so very pleasant to everyone…..
Many times our paths crossed….when he served as President of Hamilton Elementary PTO, at LNP… always helping with us with NIE Science Fair, Spelling Bee, Citizen Bee, Writing Contest & many other set ups/tear downs, and as a neighbor on Reservoir Street where my parents lived for 50 yrs and i grew up.
May God keep you and your family in his tender loving care, sending you strength and peace for the coming days
We believe we will meet our loved ones again with Jesus….in God’s time

My deepest sympathy to Joan, Lauri, Diane, spouses and grandchildren for your loss. I always knew when I had to find ushers for church Dick would always say yes. He was always so friendly, kind, and accommodating. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family, and so sorry I will be unable to attend tomorrow’s services. May knowing others care and the wonderful memories bring you some peace at this very difficult time.

Dear Mrs. Creswell,

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I hope Dick did not suffer. I really liked Dick because he was always friendly and a good soldier in our Tech Supply Section of the 3622nd Maint. Co. of the Lancaster PAANG. I am sure that you and Dick are good grandparents of your childrens’ kids. I am sure that Dick is at peace with the good Lord in heaven. Darlene and I will pray that your family wlll find comfort and peace.
