Covid 19

March 16, 2020

At DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, we believe it is our duty to prioritize the health of our community. At this time, we will continue to operate, while diligently working to minimize the impact on our community, especially the healthcare professionals we work closely with.

We are working constantly to take as many practical measures we are able to. We are monitoring Federal and local authorities, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization’s statements regarding the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and taking their most up-to-date recommendations and following guidelines. We are utilizing all resources published within the industry and advised by professional funeral associations to ensure we are making the best, conscious effort to be proactive.

At this point, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention is recommending events that exceed 50 guests should be postponed, however we still encourage you to have a private gathering.

  • Currently, we are offering to handle arrangement meetings via telephone, e-mail or digital video calling, as well as in-person.
  • Prearrangement meetings may continue in-person or via mail, e-mail or telephone.
  • We are working to integrate livestreaming or recording platforms so that services may be viewed from home. Guests experiencing the advised symptoms shall refrain from visiting DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory at this time. We are allowing flexibility for rescheduling of services that may require more than 50 guests.
  • We have employed notices to let guests know that physical contact with the family, such as handshaking or hugging is not recommended at this time.
  • We will continue to clean and disinfect our facilities after each service, as well as increasing the frequency of our daily cleaning.
  • All employees are frequently hand washing and following hygiene guidelines.
  • Hand sanitizer is readily available in multiple locations throughout the facility.
  • Employees exhibiting symptoms are instructed to stay home.

We recommend following published guidelines by health officials and organizations for trusted information.

Sincerely,

Jeremy R. DeBord
