Bryan Scott Davis

Posted By DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory On November 6, 2017 @ 2:42 pm In Obituaries | 37 Comments

Bryan Scott Davis: son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, friend. Born into the world 11-3-1952; born into heaven 11-3-2017.

“Lord, you are my reward; Lord, you are my reward. Who have I in heaven but you, who among the sons of men compares to you? Lord, you are my reward; Lord, you are my reward. Your riches will never fade away. With your treasures deep inside of me, I’m a child of the Day. Lord, you are my reward; Lord, you are my reward. You’ve passed through the heavens; now you’re seated on the throne. You’ve made me your own abode, and heaven’s now my home. Lord, you are my reward; Lord, you are my reward. Your wealth you have given in your Word, an inheritance that’s undefiled in Jesus Christ the Lord. Lord, you are my reward; Lord, you are my reward.” – Bryan S. Davis

Bryan’s wife, Laura, and his children, Barbie, Mary, and Ben, all recognize that his life on earth was entirely centered in the life of Jesus, not in his activities. Bryan was preceded into the eternal presence of Jesus by his son, Michael. He is the son of Barbara S. and the late G. W. Davis III, and the brother of G.W. (Wally) Davis IV.

A service of worship in loving memory of Bryan will be held on Saturday, November 11, 1 PM, at Zion Church of Millersville, 317 N. George St., Millersville.  Visitation with refreshments will follow the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bryan’s memory to Church Planting International, 5186 Cressingham Dr., Fort Mill, SC 29707.

Condolence from Glenn Hill on November 6th, 2017 5:02 pm

My dear Laura, I loved you and Bryan so much, and I still love you! I am so sorry for your loss, although he had so many health problems, he may have been ready to go and to begin eternity with His and our Lord Jesus. You will surely miss him, I know this from my own experience. But, your Lord Jesus and your family will help you make it. My family has been wonderful to me. I am glad you have children nearby; they will help you through this dark valley. The pain and sorrow will get less with time, but you will always miss your sweetheart and wish that things could have been different. It has been two years and eight months since I lost my darling Betty Sue and that has been my experience. We were married nearly 55 years. I love you, Laura, and I hope to come to see you sometime, if I can. Lean on your Lord and your family and your friends and you will be able to make it. Love, Glenn (Hill) NC

Brian, if I had been lucky enough to have had a brother I would have wanted you! Your faith, kindness, and humbleness were admirable. Your musical talent was God Given,
. You made your Lord and Savior, as well as your fan club more than proud. I will miss you my brother, but when I hear the sweet melody of the piano I will think of you and know that one day I will meet up with you in heaven . Until then, rest easy in the company of your beautiful son Michael.. I will be there to watch over Laura . Love and hugs until we meet again. Wanda Kramer Malesich

Condolence from Robert LeMin on November 8th, 2017 10:49 am

My Dad & I have fond memories of Bryan and his family from the 1950’s until the last time we saw him.
From the corner store in Grandview Heights, to Davis Oil Co., , his music, his faith, and more. Bryan put a lot of spirit and passion into everything he did. He is sadly missed and will be forever remembered. It was an honor and pleasure to know him, work with him (as my Dad did for decades,) and be engaged and entertained by him. One of my Dad’s favorite stories from LeMin’s store was the time Bryan’s Dad brought him in as a newborn to be weighed on the postal scale at the counter.

Condolence from Terri May on November 8th, 2017 3:09 pm

I have not seen Bryan in many, many years (I think shortly after he was married). I was checking obits online looking for another friend’s who died yesterday. The first picture I saw was Bryan’s & I felt like the breath was knocked out of me! What a gentle sweet person he was. I went to college at Millersville and met Bryan through a bible study group. He would come and play the piano in the glass boxes in the basement of my dorm & I was so blessed to get to sit with him and listen sometimes. I can just picture him in the presence of the Lord having a wonderful time. My sincerest condolences to his loved ones.

Condolence from Nancy Newcomer Vick on November 10th, 2017 11:53 am

To all of Bryan’s family and friends I offer my sincerest condolences. I wasn’t lucky enough to know Bryan as a “grown up” but had so much fun with him in elementary school. I used to ride my bike around the block where he lived for hours just to try to catch a glimpse of the cutest boy at Schaefer school! It’s been a joy to read the very special things people have written about the incredibly loving, faithful and talented man Bryan became. I wish I could hear his music! May your warm memories and your faith help you through this difficult time of personal loss.

Condolence from Wanda Malesich on November 10th, 2017 8:39 pm

Thinking of your beautiful family and hoping to honor your memory tomorrow.

Condolence from Anne Devlin Mason on November 11th, 2017 12:19 pm

I am sending prayers to Bryan’s family. He was a gentle, handsome man. I fell in love with him in Kindergarten at Nathan C. Schaeffer Elementary School. He was the best skipper in the class…and a kind boy. I saw him last at our class reunion in 2010 and we had a nice chat…he spoke of losing his son and loving his family and the Lord. What a beautiful soul. I am sorry that he has left this world, but I know that he is at peace in heaven.

Condolence from PAUL & LISA BUCKWALTER on November 12th, 2017 9:07 am

We were so sorry we had to leave before the service was over. Paul’s cousins memorial service was at Landis Homes at 2:30.
I, Paul have fund memories of us interceding in the mornings at Long’s Park. However I had lost contact with him over the years.
Is there a way that I could purchase one of his CDs? I would like one with the first song that was played of the resurrection. He took us directly to the throne in heaven with Jesus. The service was a real worship experience of course with Bryan it could not be anything less.
Love and prayers

Condolence from Mark F. Barlieb on November 20th, 2017 12:37 pm

Laura & Family,

On this part of our journey while visiting earth, time seems to sometimes separate us. I first met Bryan when he was en-route to the University of Arizona in Tuscon (1973) . I was living with a friend of his in Albuquerque, NM and he stayed overnight with us. We were not believers at the time. The next time I saw him was after worshiping our redeeming God at First United Methodist Church in Lancaster, PA. Onward in this journey, Bryan was very much part of life at ” The Alternative Coffee House” (mid seventies – mid eighties) . He absolutely ROCKED that Honky Tonk Piano with high praise to the Almighty. Bryan is in the presence of the Prince of Peace and the everlasting arms of Almighty God.

His Peace is in You,

Mark F. Barlieb

Dear Laura and Family, We are so sorry for your loss of Bryan and are thankful his difficulties and struggles on earth are now replaced by the glories of the Lord’s presence, as he joins the heavenly choir and can rejoice in the on-going worship of his/our Lord!!
