Agnes Finlon Quimby, 86, of Lancaster, formerly of Blue Bell, PA died Wednesday, November 5, 2014.

A native of Carbondale, PA she was the daughter of the late Hugh Joseph and Rose Tammany Finlon.  Agnes was the wife of the late George M. Quimby, Jr. who died in 1980.

Agnes retired from the Wissahickon School District where she had worked as a secretary.  She was a 22 year volunteer at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, PA.  Her interests included gardening, reading, needlework, and puzzles.  She thoroughly enjoyed the companionship of her dogs, Oregano, Bailey and Nicky.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy wife of Robert Wagner of Lancaster; by a son Mark husband of Claudette Quimby of Slatington, PA;  a granddaughter, Joy Lopez; great grandchildren, Gabrielle Sukop and Brick Lopez; a step granddaughter Angela Hornberger and a step grandson, Riley Hornberger.

Her family would like to express their gratitude to the staff’s from Home Instead, Compassionate Care Hospice and Luther Acres who gave her such wonderful assistance and care.  Services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.  If desired, contributions in her memory may be made to the SPCA or the Humane League.

    Mark, I’m so sorry for your loss, I know how you feel, and at the same time I can’t imagine how you feel. Prayers and love to everyone, If I can do anything for you please let me know. It makes me happy she had such a large family to love and who loved her back.
