Ada Eshbach

Ada Eschbauch web

Ada Eshbach passed away peacefully , surrounded by family on February 27, 2022. She is now with her heavenly family.

Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Mary Phenneger. She graduated from McCaskey High School and went on to work as a secretary at Hubley Manufacturing Company. After Hubley she worked at Dart Container until she retired.

She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She loved her church, loved helping with the Community Meal, the altar guild, and the women’s auxiliary. She found a second caring church home at Zion Lutheran Church when she moved in with her daughter later in life.

She was very social, loved to be around people, going to lunch with friends whenever possible and shopping, boy did she love shopping. Family get togethers were also high on her list of favorite things to do. One of the hardest hurdles for her was being the guest at family celebrations and not the one in charge and giving the orders. She was also a great animal lover, especially her cockatiel Ernie.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Ellen McClune, Dorthey Roland and her daughter Debra Boyer (wife of Blaine Boyer) and is survived by her daughters Vicki Rebman (married to Walter Rebman Jr.), Karen Adkins (married to Robert Adkins) and Jill Shaeffer (wife of John Shaeffer, deceased) and her niece Kathleen McClune.

She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Blaine Boyer Jr., Michele Vozzella, Becki Hatzimichaels, Chelsea Rebman, Jacob Rebman and her great grandchildren Nicole Boyer, Christine Ginder, Zachary Getz, Jaq Presbery, Brooke Boyer, Shaelynn Rebman and Jiraiyah Rebman.

So many things will not be the same without her.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the caring staff at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab Center. We never worried when she was in their care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ada’s memorial service at Zion Lutheran Church of Leola,  18 Quarry Road, Leola PA 17540 on April 2, 2022 at 11 am. Visitation with the family will be from 10 am until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to The Humane League of Lancaster County 2195 Lincoln Highway E. Lancaster PA 17602

Sorry for your loss. Ada will be truly missed. I have many memories working and some “partying” with her! Lots of laughing till your belly hurt!

Sincere condolences to Ada’s family. Always had a great time when our families got together. So many great memories of times spent together either at Ada’s House in Leola or my parents’ house at 401 Hillside Ave. We will never forget the great cookouts at Stumpf Field and later playing volleyball and Wiffle Ball. Ada loved her children and grandchildren. She would also call me every so often to see how I was making out with my physical ailments. Ada was a lovely lady with a great sense of humor. She will definitely be missed. Sincerely, Sam and Carol Field

I am so sorry, girls, for your loss! Your mom was one of a kind. Those of us who worked with her, absolutely loved her! Even though we were out of touch with each other for years , she was someone you still held close to your heart. She will be sorely missed by her family and her friends. It was wonderful to reconnect with her these last couple years. I’ll be thinking of you all and holding you close to my heart as you lay her to rest.
    Much love,
    Peggy Darras Lintner
