Robert Claude Fryberger, 85, of East Petersburg, passed away the week of April 4th 2022. Robert was preceded  in death by his loving wife of 42 years, T.J. Fryberger.

Born in Lancaster Pa, he was the son of the late Claude and Josephine (Greenawalt) Fryberger.

Robert was a proud graduate of JP McCaskey High, class of 1954, where he was a student athlete and member of the National Honor Society as well as a writer for the Vidette.

Robert graduated from Temple University as a member of the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity and helped distribute the first polio vaccines. He practiced pharmacy in Lancaster County for nearly 50 years.

Robert was an admirer of trains and railroads all his life, and spent many years crafting an intricate ‘O scale’ imagineering of a 1950’s Lancaster County railroad. He was active all his life and able to enjoy travels with his wife and visits with his children as they moved throughout the country and along the East coast.  He loved taking his granddaughters to bookstores, out for ice cream, on donut dates, and occasionally to model train conventions.  He had a number of pets throughout his life that he was fond of; most notably Tweetie Bird, Simone, Gonzo T. Cat, and Pippa.

Robert is survived by his son Robert W. Fryberger (husband of Suzanne) of Northeast MD; two daughters, Allison Ryan (wife of David Coleman) of Port Charlotte FL, Deann Ragsdale (wife of Justin) of Cincinnati OH; step daughter Kim Lafond (wife of Matthew) of York PA; grandchildren Chelsea, Claudia, Josephine, and Quinn; and brother William Fryberger.

There will be a private celebration of life among immediate family members at a later date.

Condolences for the family of “Robert Claude Fryberger”

Condolence from Regina Jones Motter on April 18th, 2022 12:47 pm

My name is Regina Jones Motter. I rode back and forth to Temple on weekends with Bob and Jim Wenger from Strasburg for two years. I was in oral hygiene school. I married a Marylander so I left Lanc county 65 years ago and never knew what transpired in their lives. BOB AND I are the same age and hate to see him go. Was he still married to Jane Harsh? I knew her also. Just want you all to know how I knew him and definitely send my condolences is tough.

Condolence from Joanne Ellis on April 19th, 2022 1:03 pm

I am so sorry to see that Bob passed away. I last saw him with family as TJ”s Aunt Bobby Jo’s funeral at the Mennonite Home. I really wanted to see the Model trains which Bob loved so much. My husband was Best Man at Bob and TJ’s wedding shortly after Thorpe and I married. Also my husband, Thorpe, worked as a Pharmacist with Bob for many years at People’s Drug Store on E. King St. and then out at Manor Shopping Center. I had planned on calling so often. Bummer that I didn’t follow through. He always spoke highly of you children, and the grandkids. Joanne Ellis.

My deepest sympathy to all of the family.
I was honored to take care of the orthopedic problems of both Bob and TJ. They were always so considerate of me even when their problems were challenging and problematic.
You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.
Dr. Gerald Rothacker
