Joyce Ellerie Fink passed away peacefully at her Lancaster home on August 12, 2021, after a brief battle with Leukemia. She was surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born in York Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ellerie Haller. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Fink, with whom she celebrated 62 years of marriage in May of this year. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to many.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters: Elizabeth Lowry (Kurt Brubaker), Columbia Pennsylvania, Karinsue Miller (Matthew), Albrightsville Pennsylvania, and Julia Sloat, Marietta Pennsylvania. She loved her five grandchildren, Bailey Moser (Michael), Jasmine Sloat, Kendra Sloat, Jacob Miller, and Libby Herr (Jordan). She also loved a great granddaughter, Nora Moser, a great grandson, Gavin Herr, and another great grandson who will join her family in October.
Joyce was a teacher, a medical assistant, and had her own interior decorating business. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and reading. She had great talent in designing and quilting quilts for family and friends. It was important to Joyce to be a servant for others as she volunteered in the community.

Dear Ron and family,
I have experienced the pleasure of coming to know Joyce well through multiple episodes of rehabilitation in her life! The courage, determination and effort she consistently displayed was remarkable. I will miss my conversations with Joyce and the laughs we shared. She loved her family so much and expressed that sentiment repeatedly!

Dear Ron and family—As Joyce’s oldest friend, almost 80 years, I am remembering our closely shared childhood and teenage years. We were in each other’s weddings and I was there after Beth was born. So sad that we have lived so far apart for so many years.
Such wonderful memories, and happy that we chatted last year when she was well and seemed healthy and happy.
Am thinking of you all and glad you are all together. Love to you all, Jane Fockler Messersmith.
It was an honor to call Joyce my coworker and friend. Her smile and greeting of “Hi Honey Girl!” will remain in my heart forever! She was always a ray if sunshine to those she met both personally and professionally. I cherished the final days we shared together. May she rest in peace in God’s Heavenly Realm!
All my love and sympathy to Ron and Girls!

Mr. Fink
Sorry to read about the loss of your wife. You certainly had good long life together. I remember you from a 10th grade class at HHS. I wish I had those notes!
Grace and peace to you and your family.

Joyce (Suze to those of us who shared her college days ) was such a treasure in our lives. She was “honest open and real” – always available for sorting our many life events. And always with a gentle humor that could become appropriately wicked when required! My heart breaks for each of you…her family. I will miss her terribly. And I will always be very grateful for the hours of conversation we shared in her last weeks. As her family, thank you for making that possible by sharing her and facilitating her phone.
Much sorrow in hearing of Joyce’s passing. Ron, you and Joyce are like family. I will truly miss her wit, laugh, and friendship.
With deep sympathy, Cindy.

My sincere sympathy to the Fink Family. I don’t think words can express the loss to your family.
I know my family really leaned on Ron and Joyce during sudden loss of our father, as well as our mother’s battle with cancer. Ron and Joyce were truly beyond friend of our parents, and I am thankful for all their support. I want to remember Joyce for all her positive look at life and endearing friendship. I have those fond, great memories of our families shared celebration of Christmas and vacations, those are golden.
My heart goes out to Ron, Beth, Karen and Julie.
Take care and God bless, Pam Geiger Roof

I am saddened to learn of the passing of Joyce. She was a good friend that I remember with great warmth. Hospitality to David and me particularly stands out in my memory, she and Ron always being ready to share the property at Mt. Gretna with us and our gathered family. I will always her recall with gratitude and will miss her.
