Glenn Stauffer Brubaker, 81, of Landis Homes, Lititz, passed away on February 12, 2010 at the in-patient unit at Hospice of Lancaster County surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Rapho Township, the son of the late Levi Noll and Anna Stauffer Brubaker. He was happily married to Arlene Snyder Brubaker for nearly 63 years.
Glenn thoroughly enjoyed his life as a farmer. After farming, he worked for East Hempfield Township for 10 years until his retirement in 1990.
Glenn was an active member of Rohrerstown Mennonite Church. He loved being with his family, hunting, and spending time in the mountains. Among his friends and relatives, he was well known for his sense of humor and story telling.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene and his 8 children, daughters, Carolene Snyder Brubaker, West Chester, and Cathy Brubaker Miles, Middle East and sons, Glenn S., Jr. married to Susanne Gagner, Lancaster, Jeff S. married to Joann Metzler, Strasburg, Dennis S. married to Cindy Deiter, Willow Street, Gary S. married to Kathleen Horning, Lancaster, David S. married to Deborah Hollinger, Manheim, and Jere S. fiance of Tamara Harrod, The Woodlands, TX.
He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; Joseph, Jonathan, Amy, Jameson (Jade), Abby, Travis, Candace, Alex, Derek, Kirk, Kyler, Brittany, Colin and Bailey. He is also survived by two brothers, Harold (Virginia) and Raymond (Ruth) and a sister, Anna (J. Mark) Martin. He was preceded in death by a sister, Vera (Harold) Frey.
The family is grateful for the compassionate and excellent care provided by the staff of Hospice of Lancaster County. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Glenn’s name to Rohrerstown Mennonite Church or to Hospice of Lancaster County, PO BOX 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
Friends and family are invited to attend Glenn’s funeral at Rohrerstown Mennonite Church, 601 Rohrerstown Rd, Lancaster, on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastors Dennis Ernest, Millard Garrett and Don Good officiating. Friends and family may call at the West Bethany Chapel, Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, on Monday, February 15, 2010, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. and at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Erisman Mennonite Cemetery.
