My dear Cousin Carole will always be remembered for her jovial laugh, positive outlook, faith, and love of her family. She always prepared a beautiful meal for the Florida family who came to Lancaster, PA. to visit and she always facilitated getting the family together. We will miss her, but know her Spirit is with us.

    John, Holly, Stephanie and Lori..
Ron and I wish to send a warm embrace in the memory of your wife and Mother, Carole. Dee played bridge with Carol and for many years and our group enjoyed hearing wonderful family talk over the bridge table. We regret that we will be out of town on Monday and cannot attend the service. May all your family joys, laughter and fond memories of Carole linger with you during this sad time.

I am very saddened by the news of Carole’s passing. She was truly a remarkable woman and I owe her a tremendous debt of gratitude. Thirteen years ago as a new judge she taught me a great deal and I relied upon her advice and counsel on a daily basis. I trust that John and the rest of her family will find some comfort in knowing the high esteem in which she was held by all who had the good fortune of knowing her. Rest in Peace Carole. D-

My condolences to John and the children that Carole talked so much about. When I started at the Courthouse, Carole was always there for me. Since she retired, I have missed her dearly, but did enjoy the times that we got together during the last couple of years for dinner at Lombardo’s. She loved to talk about her children and always had pictures and stories about her grandchildren, and her wonderful husband and shared many secrets to life with me. I will miss and love her always. Tammy (Judge Gorbey’s secretary)

Carole was a remarkable person in all ways. She was a terrific colleague at the Courthouse, an incredible fountain of knowledge and a delightful person to spend time with because of all of her interests. My thoughts are with her family during this time.

    To Carole’s Family:

I spent some 50 plus days at Calvary Homes Health Care in a room opposite Carole’s. We shared a table at meal times and it was good to get to know her briefly. She was a delightful person and I want you to know that it was good to meet her. Please accept my deepest condolences on your personal and family loss. Our prayers are with you.

All of us in the FL part of our family will miss Carole. Our visits to her and our PA relatives were always anticipated with much pleasure. Carole was both my niece and friend since our childhood years.

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of my cousin Carole. Unfortunately, I just heard today, thus missing her celebration service by several months. Carole was always the cousin who kept in touch with her Virginia relatives over the year and went out of her way to extend hospitality and love to me and my family. We always looked so forward to visiting with her. She was basically our only link to the rest of our large and wide-spread Herr family. I will surely miss her and look forward to seeing her again in heaven. We love you guys, Holly, Stephanie, and Lori.

Your mom was a great lady. She made me feel so welcome when I visited your home when I was a freshman at Gettysburg College with Stephanie. I am sorry this note is so late. I just found it when I was looking for one of my grandmother’s cousins in York.
