Anna McMillen Kraft, 98, of Masonic Village, formerly of 209 Ruby St., Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2009.
Born in Columbia, she was the widow of Edward C. Kraft, Sr. and daughter of the late George and Ella Hubley McMillen.
Mrs. Kraft was a long-time member of First Reformed U.C.C. of Lancaster.
She taught in a one-room schoolhouse for one year in the Welsh Mountains. She then devoted her life to raising her seven children, which she considered to have been her greatest achievement.
She graduated from Stevens Girls High in 1929 and received her teaching certificate from the former Millersville Normal School in 1931.
Anna was a champion ladies duckpin bowler, a crossword puzzle enthusiast, and cooking for her family was her greatest love.
Surviving are her children, Edward C., Jr. husband of Shirley Mayer Kraft of Lancaster, Charles A. Kraft of Lewistown, Gordon A., husband of Yvonne Leggett Kraft of Lancaster, Susan K., wife of Curtis C. Huston of Norristown, PA, and Christine K., wife of Robert E. Diehl of Conestoga, PA; 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was predeceased by two daughters, Mary Ann Williams and Karen L. Kraft; two brothers, Earl and Ken McMillen; and one sister, Mary Mumma.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral from the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Friday, March 27th, at 10:30 a.m. The family will greet friends on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park.
